This years theme ALL SHADES OF BEAUTIFUL was inspired by the Pride Flag. Originally designed by San Francisco Artist Gilbert Baker, the Rainbow Flag originally had two additional colors (pink and turquoise) that were removed because of manufacturing streamlining requirements and multiple modifications of the flag over time.
We are using the flag to encourage the submission of stories for Pride 2010, both to share on the PrideFest website, and a few in the official documentary of PrideFest, All Shades of Beautiful. See info below to submit ideas or to help.
Here are the way we're interpreting the colors of the flag (based on the original interpretation):
The Documentary We're producing a documentary and are looking for stories and local queer filmmakers to help make it a reality. See contact info below if you have either. Be sure to indicate which color of the rainbow you think your story falls under. Filmmakers will get some minimal compensation to help with costs. Individual stories will be shown as 3-4 minute short and 12-14 minutes for full length feature (included with 5 other stories).
The Online Storybook Got a story you want to tell about a friend or family member? We will consider it to include in our online storybook. Please keep it under 1000 words and include a photo. Be sure to indicate which color of the rainbow you think your story falls under.
WE WANT STORIES - BOTH FOR OUR SHARING ONLINE ON OUR ONLINE STORYBOOK AND FOR OUR DOCUMENTARY Have an idea or story to share? Send an idea or completed story (1000 words or less) plus a photo to info@seattlepridefest.org
